Game play is superb. The AI will block your moves, hit you for the behind, and make plenty of smart passes on the other cars. The AI does drive like they do in real life, which is a change from a lot of other racing games based on real series. There is damage on the game, generally you will loose a glass window or a side window. Damage does not affect the performance of the car. Due to the fact that in real BTCC racing, most drivers do not make pit stops, you can’t make pit stops in the game. You can go down pit road but all it does is slow your car down.

TOCA offers top-notch multiplayer options. You can either play multiplayer on 2 computers over an IPX network, Internet, modem, or a serial cable. Also, you can do up to 4 players on 1 computer, an option rarely found on newer games.

Graphics are great, just as long as you have at least 4MB of video memory. TOCA supports popular 3D accelerators, software rendering, and it will work even if you do not have a 3D card. Sound is good, with music and sound effects. Noting really special about the sound.

If you like driving games, TOCA Championship Racing is one of the best. TOCA 2 should be out shortly however and that will be based on the 1998 season. If TOCA 2 is out in your area, I would get that, but if not TOCA Championship Racing is sure to make to you happy.
